Pyrantel is marketed under a variety of names such as Pyran and Strongid to name two. It is the most widely used of all wormers in the dog industry. The basic active ingredient is Pyrantel pamoate and is given orally (*by mouth) at 1 cc per 5 pounds. It should be given at a minimium of 2 times, 10 days apart to get both stages of the worms in the intestine. Pyrantel is only used for Round and Hook worms.
Disclaimer: As with all medications, wormers should only be given under the advise and direction of your vet. Post are for informational purposes only.
