Fenbendazole is marketed under a variety of names with the most known one being Safeguard. Safeguard is labeled for cattle and goats but is used off-label for dogs. Safeguard can be purchased without a prescription. The Goat formula is 10% Suspension being 100 mg/mL and is given orally (*by mouth) at the dosage of 1 cc per 4 pounds, once a day for 3 days. Safeguard works to kill the worms internally and the digestive system digest them so they normally are not seen as worms upon expulsion but as jelly globs. Many make the mistake of thinking their dogs did not have worms since they did not visible see them which in many cases is not the case.
Safeguard is used to treat Round, Hook and Whip worms.
Safeguard is also used in a 3-5 day dosage for Giardia.
Disclaimer: As with all medications, wormer should only be given under the advise and direction of your vet. Post are for informational purposes only.

Does safeguard has side effects? I read an article once which listed side effects of dewormers.
