Ivomec should only be used under Veterinary Advice and direction as if used incorrectly could cause organ failure and in some cases death.
Ivomec has been found to be detrimental to the Collie type breeds so is not recommended to be used with those breeds.
Ivomec is a cattle wormer that is used off-label as a wormer for dogs for both intestinal and as a heartworm preventative.
Ivomec can burn the vocal cords of dogs and has a sting if injected under the skin.
Tiny Tots have shown to have reactions or not be able to properly metabolize Ivomec and should be used cautiously in the smaller dogs.
It can be found in 2 formulas.
The 1% is given at the dosage of 0.1 (*1/10th) cc per 11 pounds for intestinal worms. Orally (*by mouth) or injected under the skin. Do not dose more than once a month.
When used as heartworm preventative the dosage is 1 cc per 60# (*do not overdose) once a month either orally (*by mouth) or injected under the skin. Do not dose more than once a month.
Disclaimer: As with all medications, wormer should only be given under the advise and direction of your vet. Post are for informational purposes only.

We all need the vet's advice before we do anything to our dog. My friend's dog has intestinal worms and I think Ivomec is the answer.
