Biewer Yorkie Association, better known as the BYA was established in 2003 to document, database, register and issue Registration Certificates with pedigrees for the Biewer Yorkie.
The Biewer Yorkie Association was the 1st American Biewer Registry to both register the Biewer Yorkie and have the 1st USA dog show in which the Biewer Yorkie was shown on American soil.
The BYA has the 1st USA breeder of Biewer Yorkies as a respected Director in an advisory position to assure that the Biewer Yorkie, it's registration and standards are kept at the highest levels and never compromised.
The BYA will accept for dual registration, those dogs submitted from BYA recognized registries such as the IBC. Dual registration requires a copy of the current registration (*or litter papers), a copy of a certified pedigree, 3 whisker follicle samples (*whiskers pulled from the muzzle complete with root follicle) and a microchip number along with $25.00 in registration fees.
BYA does not accept the BBCA registered dogs for dual registration as they are said to be cross-bred dogs nor do they accept CKC (*Continental Kennel Club) due to their lax registration policies.
BYA also registers and documents FSS series whereas one parent is Biewer Yorkie and the other a Yorkshire Terrier or is from a Biewer bloodline as a known carrier of the Belted gene.
BYA puts 3 generation pedigrees on all of their Registration Certifications free of charge.
BYA is a non-verbal Registry and does not participate in idle gossip nor do we approve of our registrars doing so.
BYA has 2 shows a year in conjunction with the ACR Spring and Fall Shows.
