Harlequin Pinscher Association, better known as the HPA, is a registry established for the databasing and registration of the Harlequin Pinscher from foundation to full-breed status.
HPA registers both the Harlequin Pinscher and Miniature Pinschers
in FSS status that are used to breed in a Harlie program.
The HPA is the founding and original registry of the re-developed and re-established Harlequin Pinscher in the United States.
The HPA registers Harlequin Pinschers in the Brindle, Merle, Piebald and combination patterns.
The HPA is home to the founding breeder of the re-development of the breed and is a respected Director for the HPA who over sees the breed standard and documentation of the Harlequin Pinscher. Having the founding breeder over see the breed standard assures HPA breeders that the standard will not continually change at the whim of others.
HPA will accept for dual registration Miniature Pinschers from others accepted recognized registries to be used in a Harlequin Pinscher Breeding Program. HPA will not accept CKC (*Continental Kennel Club) registered Miniature Pinschers for dual registration due to their lax registration policies.
HPA does not accept any Harlequin Pinschers that are registered
with any other registry as HPA is the founding registry and will only recognize Harlies that have been registered through HPA down the line. This policy allows us to be assured that our database is not compromised by information from other registries that we have no control over.
Registration requires either an HPA issued litter paper, a copy of a litter paper or registration certificate issued from an approved accepted recognized registry along with a minimum 3 generation certified pedigree, a microchip number and $25.00 in registration fees. (*If submitting registration from an HPA Litter Paper, the 3 generation pedigree is not required as we will already have it in our database.)
